Big City Session with Senior Model Rep Kailie
Kailie is a smart, confident girl and knows what she wants and she knew exactly what she wanted for her senior session. When she decided on Chicago, she already had an idea of where she wanted to shoot and she even mentioned wanting to see some "bokeh" from the city lights in her images. She did her own hair and makeup, which is something she enjoys. She did a fabulous job and looked beautiful. Her pretty eyes especially popped in her images.
We planned our shoot to hit all the places on her wish list, with some room for some spontaneous backdrops. Navy Pier was was a must, then the Crystal Gardens at Navy Pier. I love how tropical the garden felt and gave us a totally different setting in the middle of the city. After that we walked around Michigan Avenue and finally a rooftop for some night shots. Shooting in Chicago can be a little challenging with people everywhere, but we worked our way around the crowds.
Luckily Kailie also has a laid back attitude and didn't sweat a tiny wardrobe malfunction or a few unexpected raindrops! We had fun driving and walking around the city with her wagon full of clothes and shoes (and gummy bears). Mom even gave her a little ride in her wagon when she got tired of walking in her heels. Haha! Our biggest challenge was at the end of our shoot finding a rooftop that was open on top and accessible. I think we did a mini-tour of Chicago's parking garages before we found one that would work. Our little adventure reminded me of one of Kailie's fave quotes:
